The island state of Malta celebrates its national day of independence on September 21. Owen Stafford spoke with Brussels-based Maltese national Pia Micallef for a Maltese perspective on life in Brussels. He also spoke with General Consul of the Embassy of Malta in Belgium, Stefan Muscat, to find out more about the Maltese presence here in Belgium and what events are planned during the upcoming Maltese presidency of the EU starting in January 2017.
