Michael Gunner, the Alice Springs born and bred Territorian who returned Labor to Government after only one term in Opposition says he is prepared to negotiate with local Aboriginal people about a Treaty and that it will be a critical agenda item during his first term of government.

Mr Gunner who has already visited a Top End Aboriginal community since being sworn in last week says he is also not averse to the transfer of housing assets as a means of growing financial security in remote communities.
