The Life Aquatic - John Herlig and Ave del Mar

A couple of years ago, while exploring a boat yard in Reedville, Virginia, John Herlig stumbled across a tatty old sailboat, up on the hard, with a rusty sign saying 'for sale'. On the surface, she was in pretty poor shape but her bones were good and John saw great potential. Now John lives aboard Ave del Mar and together they have embarked on the voyage of a lifetime. But it's not the first time she has been around the world. In fact, her second owner, Jamie S Bryson, wrote a book recounting how he and his wife and son circumnavigated the globe in Ave, more than twenty years ago.
