if only I had (Pimlico Station)
Pimlico reimagined by J. Simon van der Walt.
"This audio takes its title from Spike Milligan’s ‘Adolf Hitler: My Part in his Downfall’:
‘Edgington and I promenaded the decks. Harry stopped: “If only I had a tube.” “Why?” “It’s quicker by tube.”
It was entirely constructed from ‘Pimlico 140516.wav’ using SuperCollider and, in a small way, Audacity, as a study in using livecoding techniques to develop a fixed piece."
Part of our project The Next Station, reimagining the sounds of the London Underground and creating the first ever tube sound map. August 2016 - for more information see www.citiesandmemory.com/thenextstation
