New England jumped out to an early lead, but was unable to hold on and lost 7-6 to Maryland State Champ on Wednesday.

While New England led until the sixth inning, Maryland State Champ worked its way back and took the lead on an RBI single by Gabriel Rosica.

Kevin Winn went a perfect 2-2 at the plate for Maryland State Champ. He singled in the second and third innings.

William Granata racked up three RBIs on three hits for New England. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the second and fifth innings. Rosica got the win in relief for Maryland State Champ. Rosica pitched 4 2/3 innings and allowed two runs.

Braydon Stellato lasted two innings on the rubber for New England before being removed. Stellato allowed four hits and four runs.

Maryland State Champ won even though Brady Manara didn't have his pitches working. Manara was pulled after 1 1/3 innings. Manara surrendered four hits and four runs.

The top of the second saw New England take an early lead, 4-0. Stellato started the rally for New England with a single. Granata singled, scoring Cole Dickinson. New England added more runs when Stellato scored on an RBI single by Michael Muller, Sheedy scored on a groundout by Kailan O'Dell, and Granata scored on a wild pitch.

Maryland State Champ answered New England's top inning with four runs of its own in the second. Maryland State Champ scored on a two-run double by Jonathan Klein, an RBI double by Aiden Laurentius, and an error.
