Josh Kuss leads Southeast to 4-2 victory.

Josh Kuss powered Southeast at the plate and on the bump Monday, willing Southeast to a 4-2 victory over Middle Atlantic.

Kuss had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the first and third innings.

Middle Atlantic had no answer for Kuss, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Kuss held Middle Atlantic hitless over two-thirds of an inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out none.

Southeast held off Middle Atlantic, as Middle Atlantic was unable to overcome a three-run third inning deficit.

Middle Atlantic scored two runs in the fourth on an RBI double by Zach Weiner and a groundout by Aaron Bergstrom. Still, Middle Atlantic couldn't draw even. Weiner paced Middle Atlantic at the plate. Weiner went 2-2 and drove in one. He singled in the second inning and doubled in the fourth inning.

Connor Hegan got the win for Southeast. He allowed two runs over 5 1/3 innings. Connor Hegan struck out three, walked three and gave up four hits. Bergstrom was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.

The lead stayed with Southeast after the first, when it scored one run on a groundout by Chase Toonk.

Southeast brought home one run in the third inning, and matched that run total in the sixth. In the third, Southeast scored on an RBI double by Kyto Morrow, scoring Kuss.
