Early lead gives Mexico victory over Canada, 13-2.

Mexico jumped out to an early lead on Canada and captured a 13-2 victory on Monday at Cal Sr. Yard.

Eight runs in the first three innings allowed Mexico to put the game away early. Guillermo Garcia racked up three RBIs on one hit for Mexico.

Canada's lineup had no answer for Erick Ortega. Erick Ortega held Canada hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Salazar got the win for Mexico. He pitched two shutout innings. Salazar struck out two, walked one and gave up two hits.

Green lasted one inning on the rubber for Canada before being removed. Green allowed two hits and five runs.

Mexico built upon its lead with three runs in the third. A wild pitch scored David Guevara for the inning's first run.
