The Investigatory Powers Bill – the so-called Snooper’s Charter – is making its way through Parliament, and is currently being debated in the House of Lords. It’s a wide ranging Bill designed to update surveillance law, but critics say the powers it gives government are too broad. Nick Howard spoke to Lord Strasburger, who served on the Draft Investigatory Powers Bill Joint Committee, and is now debating it in the House of Lords. Paul first explained the sheer scope of the bill.
