A Centerville company called International Armoring Corporation has started outfitting police cars from Draper, Utah County and the Unified Police Department with glass capable of withstanding gunshots. It comes after years of effort and fundraising by Nanette Wride. Her husband, Utah County Sheriff's Sergeant Cory Wride, died when ambushed along SR-73 in January, 2014.
