The UN Secretary General, has asked the UN security council to impose an immediate arms embargo on South Sudan.

Ban - Ki-moon said the Security council should also enact additional targeted sanctions and commanders blocking the implementation of the peace agreement.

He talked tough on the situation in South Sudan, saying; “this is the time to precisely reinforce UN Action, when a gov’t cannot protect its people, and when warring parties seem more intent on enriching and empowering themselves at the expense of their people, the international community has a responsibility to act.”
