Le Grand BanKet
Central(e), the City of Brussels' contemporary art venue located in the old electric generating plant on Place Ste-Catherine is celebrating its tenth anniversary with an inclusive project by Françoise Schein (if you are familiar with the St-Gilles Parvis metro station you know her work). 120 people from the neighborhood have produced a work of art consisting of ten ceramic tile-covered tables, after attending workshops that included philosophical advisers. Each person was allocated 4 tiles to decorate with their ideal meal. The project to be permanently installed in a public space will first be located on the Black Tower half of Place Ste-Catherine for three months opening with a big public banquet Sunday June 26th at noon with food, drink and music and with all the participants in attendance. Everyone is invited. www.centrale.brussels
