Children’ smiles enchant Japanese peacekeepers as they bid farewell to South Sudan

“When we worked on the streets, the Protection of civilian – PoC sites and water points, many children came to us, giving a big smile and waving their hands.

"So whenever i see their smiles, i strongly feel that we were here as peacekeepers, to protect their innocent smiles and help them to live a happy and healthy life.” – This is just one of the strong memories, Ai Nakasiho, Policy advisor of the Japanese Horizontal Mechanized Engineer Contingent carried with her, as the contingent ended its six months mission in South Sudan.
