Ban smartphones for under 16s? @EJWoolf and Fionola Meredith discuss
A former Downing Street advisor has called for a ban on 16 year olds having smartphones or tablets. Steve Hilton is a former director of strategy for David Cameron.
He says the move would, "make life easier for parents, better for children, and still retain the benefits of technology. We need to create a social norm that children should never have access to the internet without supervision. Just as we've banned smoking or drinking for under-16s because we think those things are bad for them, we should ban smartphones and tablets for children, too".
