Former Alliance deputy @Seamus_Close says party should snub Justice Ministry
So who's going to be the next Assembly Justice Minister? It's a really big question, as negotiations continue behind the scenes on forming a new Stormont government. Up to now, it's been held by Alliance - as part of a carefully worked out compromise between the DUP and Sinn Fein? But what if Alliance turns it down this time - what if they join the UUP and very possibly the SDLP on the opposition benches? Arlene Foster has made clear her party won't support a Sinn Fein Justice Minister. It's hard to see Sinn Fein backing a DUP candidate. So does that a mean stalemate?
