Pianist Kenny Barron joined Chris Philips

American pianist Kenny Barron has for many years been one of the most dedicated and hardest working jazz musicians in the world. In 2010 he was honoured with The National Endowment for the Arts as a Jazz Master. During a stunning career he has worked with many great names from Dizzy Gillespie to Ella Fitzgerald, Charlie Haden, Ron Carter and countless others. Recently he has been an integral part of the Gerry Gibbs Thrasher Dream Trio with drummer Gibbs and long time collaborator Ron Carter but this year has finally released another album under his own name for legacy label Impulse! called 'The Book of Intuition'. After a sell-out night at Ronnie Scotts and before the second night he joined Chris Philips on-air.
