Inverness Gets £315m City Deal
Inverness is getting its City Deal and its more than expected. A total of £315million will be invested into the Highland capital and surrounding areas over the next 10-years. We're being told that the money will go towards projects including the A9/A96 Link Road; upgrading the city's castle and museum; building 6,000 new homes; and improving the region's digital connectivity. The City Deal, which was officially announced this morning, is an agreement between the Scottish Government, UK Government and the Highland Council.
