Kola Loka salesman, Mexico City
Kola Loka vendor at the Zócalo in Mexico City. The main plaza of Mexico City is commonly known as the Zócalo but is official name is 'Plaza de la Constitution'. It has been a gathering place for Mexicans since Aztec times. The Zocalo and surrounding blocks have played a central role in the city's planning and geography for almost 700 years. Today street vendors and performers fill up its surrounding streets creating an enormous outdoor market selling just about everything. By Joao van Zelst.
