My big brother was a pencil sketch which hung in our living room....the words of Ursula Duddy who was just six weeks old when her brother was shot dead by a soldier in Derry. She never got to know him and her only memory was the sketch in her home. Her story is one of 28 which features in the book Beyond the Silence. It features the stories of 28 wives mothers and sisters who lost loved ones in the troubles and we have been hearing their stories on Breakfast all week. Usula's brother Jim Gallagher was a member of the IRA and he was shot dead on a bus in 1976 shortly after being released from prison. Ursula has been telling her story to Enda McClafferty and she begins with explaining why her brother joined the IRA
