Violinist Curtis Stewart talks with Ruth Fisher
Violinist Curtis Stewart, son of the renowned tuba player Bob Stewart, released a unique album in January with an eclectic mix of classical music and jazz, hip hop and electronica. Ruth Fisher recently caught up with him and chatted to him about his choice of composers ranging from Bach to Webern, John Coltrane to Outkast, his use of electronics, performing with Stevie Wonder, Wyclef Jean and Snarky Puppy, plus a couple of stories of meeting Dizzy Gillespie and McCoy Tyner as a child when his father was performing with them.
