Give up your free TV licence - is that really what the BBC will ask over-75s? #BBCNolan
People over 75 could be asked to give up their free TV licence under plans being considered by the BBC. The BBC is facing a £650m bill for taking on the cost of the free licences from 2020. That's part of a funding settlement with David Cameron's government. A report on ways to appeal for voluntary contributions from over 75s is due later this year. Media reports suggest older celebrities could front a publicity campaign to push for contributions. What do you think? If you're over 75, would you fork out to help the BBC?
