LISTEN - Portstewart woman says elderly mother had a 12 hour wait for a bed
Patients attending the emergency department at the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine at the weekend were faced with a wait of up to 12 hours to get a hospital bed. Yesterday, the health and social care board defended it's role after emergency departments struggled to cope with admissions. Some people treated at the Causeway Hospital have described the situation as chaotic. Sandra Wright from Portstewart attended the hospital with her sick mother. She has been speaking to Barry Whyte.
