LISTEN - "House of Lords needs to be reformed"
He's been in the House of Lords for just over a year and he's now more convinced than ever that it needs to be reformed. Lord Hay of Ballyore says while the Lords plays a key role in big decisions, the number of Peers needs to be cut. He says there are more than a thousand peers in the House of Lords and many of them are well into their eighties and nineties. He says a slimmed down House of Lords would be just as effective in holding the government to account. He's been speaking to Enda McClafferty.
