The Man Who Lived in a South Shields Cave

64 year old Alan Husband spent 7 years living rough.

For a year he claims to have lived in a cave on Marsden Beach and says he was even washed away one morning by the tide.

Alan's now living in a hostel, but told our reporter Anthony Day what being homeless was like as he collected a Christmas food and clothes parcel in South Shields.
