The Dusty Show from Dec 17, 2015
Tony Williams Lifetime - "VAshkar" - Emergency [w/John McLaughlin, Larry Young, Jack Bruce] Jade Warrior - "The Traveler" - Jade Warrior McGuinness Flint - "Brother Psyche" - McGuinness Flint [Tom McGuinness' band from Manfred Mann] Fat Mattress - "Magic Forest" - Fat Mattress [From Folkestone, England - Noel Redding - ex-Jimi Hendrix Experience] Set: Dik-Dik Blood - Pidge Sutherland Brothers & Quiver - "Arms of Mary" - Reach For The Sky I remember seeing Sutherland Bros. and Quiver at the Iowa State Fair circa '75. They were second on the bill, following Texas, and before Steely Dan and Elton John. Steely Dan cancelled because a power line was cut-through and the gig was running late. I was really mad as I had just purchased Can't Buy A Thrill and I really wanted to see them. They didn't tour much after that until recently. James Gang - "Tend My Garden" - Rides Again Amon Duul II - "Stumbling Over Melted Moonlight" - Tanz der Lemminge [From German] Testament - "Into The Pit" - The New Order omg this sounds harsh after that pastoral gentilia i was playing Grand Funk - "Genevieve" - Born To Die Stomu Yamashta - Seiji Ozawa - "Cassiopeia for Percussion Solo and Orchestra" - 100 Best 20th Century Classics Of Wondrous Legends (OWL) - "Upon the Wings of Gabriel" - Of Wondrous Legends [Re-issued. Originally recorded for Universal in 1971. They passed on the project and the LP languished for years, unheard.] I am in such an "Irene" headspace tonight. Nice Set: The Communion Lark - Braintree - C. Pigeon This improv piece is out of place. Should've stuck with the music. After ten years I still don't know what this show "is." Music, interviews, musicals, ... all over the place. I lose the music fans with this type of thing and the interviews. Mercy - "Love Can Make You Happy" [Tampa band] http://www.wfmu.org/playlists/shows/64160
