BBC Radio Manchester are marking the 50th anniversary of the Race Relation act

86 year old Barrington Young came to Manchester from Jamaica in 1954. He worked first in the mills before going on to become Manchester's first black railway inspector. Not long after arriving in the UK he also met and married his Austrian wife Hertha. So as a mixed race couple in the 1950's - did they face discrimination or prejudice?:
