1950s Aberdeen Tourism Film "The Silver City" To Screen At Belmont Cinema
A rare film showing how Aberdeen was portrayed to tourists in the 1950s will play in the Belmont Cinema today.
It's part of the "Made In My Toun" series, which shows rare archived footage of the development of Scoltand's towns and cities.
A 1957 film titled "The Silver City" which was made to attract visitors to Aberdeen will be on show, followed by a panel discussion. It was initially shown at over 1,000 cinemas across the UK and distributed worldwide to countries including Australia and Switzerland. Curator Shona Thomson tells us more about its history. . .
