"Assad a symbol who fuels violence in Syria" Dr Farouq Habib

During his recent visit to Ireland at the invitation of the Irish Syria Solidarity Movement Dr Farouq Habib said that as much as he wished for peace this was not possible while Syrian President Bashar al Assad remained in power. The former banker who now directly helps the White Helmets in Syria through his work as Program Manager for MayDayRescue (@MaydayRescue), told his audience that "Assad remained a symbol who fuels violence in Syria." He also urged his audience not to forget the genesis of the conflict which is often forgotten in the ongoing political power struggle.
