Maridi explosion survivors respond well to treatment
September 16th will be remembered as a dark and tragic day for the people of Maridi in Western Equatoria State.
More than 200 people lost their lives when a fuel tanker exploded as people scrambled to siphon fuel.
With the help of UNMISS and other partners, some of the critically burned survivors were evacuated to Juba Teaching Hospital.
More than 60 patients are receiving treatment and recuperating at the hospital.
The Director at the Hospital, Dr. John Chol spoke to my colleague Susan Dokolo and said the patients are responding well to treatment.
