'Proud ex-IRA man' comments spark council row
A Sinn Féin Councillor - who killed six people in a car bomb attack more than 40 years ago - is at the centre of a political storm after describing himself as a "proud ex-IRA man". Sean McGlinchey made the remarks at a council meeting in Coleraine, where the Provisional IRA detonated two car bombs in 1973. Unionists have described the remarks as "shameful". Dean McLaughlin heard from Councillor McGlinchey and the Ulster Unionist William McCandless.
