In Derry or Strabane you could be fined £1000 for dog poo – is this too much? #BBCNolan

If your dog fouls public land anywhere in Derry or Strabane you could be fined £1,000.

That's under the terms of a new Dog Control Order which the council wants to bring in. It's already in place in Strabane, and is awaiting ratification from the council to allow it to be implemented in Londonderry as well.

What do you think - is £1000 a bit steep for a bit of dog poo? Should other councils follow the example of Derry and slap a hefty fine on dog owners?
