Rising number of babies born outside marriage: ‘Compassion not condemnation’ – Rev David McIlveen #BBCNolan
More than half of babies born in Belfast are now born to non-married parents.
Yesterday the Belfast Telegraph reported the statistic. It reported that six out of every ten babies born in the city are born out of wedlock.
Free Presbyterian Minister David Mcilveen has called the figures a 'tragedy' and warned 'we are swinging towards a promiscuous society.' He also said that society was 'built on the love between a man and a woman - therefore marriage'.
But his comments haven't gone down well with everybody. Do you agree with him or are these figures just a sign of a modern society?
