Labour's shadow chancellor John McDonnell apologises for saying IRA members should be "honoured"

So 12 years after saying that IRA members should be "honoured" Labour's shadow chancellor John McDonnell has apologised for those remarks and the offence they caused. His apology came on BBC's Question Time programme last night after he was challenged by a member of the audience. So should that be the end of the matter?
