IGAD ceasefire workshop to conclude in Addis Ababa
A workshop on ceasefire and transitional security arrangements is expected to conclude Friday in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The 5-day workshop brought together military commanders from government and opposition sides for technical discussions on how to implement the ceasefire agreement that was signed last month.
According to the matrix of the agreement, the workshop was to be held within 14 days of the signing of the peace agreement.
Discussions involve the command and control of the presidential guard force, establishment of a transitional security force unit and protection of officials returning to Juba – among other issues.
Haile-Michael is the Communications officer for the IGAD special envoys.
