Meals served on planks of wood, tin cups, even a shovel - time to bring back plates? #BBCNolan

Have you noticed the growing trend of having food served on anything except a plate. The latest craze sees food served on slates, wooden boards and even buckets. It has even lead to the We Want Plates Twitter account where people post pictures of what they have been served their food on. Some of the pictures show chips served in mini shopping trolleys, bread rolls in a flat cap and even a cooked breakfast served on a shovel.
