University students leave embassy in Cairo
University students on government scholarship in Egypt have finally left the embassy in Cairo.
The South Sudanese students occupied the embassy for two months, demanding payment of overdue allowances.
A delegation from the Ministry of education traveled to Cairo to settle the student’s dues.
Payment of the arrears started on Saturday and each student was paid one thousand one hundred US dollars to cover the 11 months of unpaid allowances.
Deputy Education Minister Bol Makueng led the team that traveled to make the payments. He spoke to Radio Miraya reporter David Lukan.
