The police have described a paramilitary-style attack on a man in Derry last night as "absolutely barbaric". The 30-year-old was beaten with an iron bar in a house at Corrib Court in Ballymagroary, before being dragged into the kitchen and shot in the leg. Chief Inspector Tony Callaghan told this programme that his partner was also assaulted by the masked intruders and that the attack happened in front of two children.
