President Salva Kiir expected to sign Peace deal in Juba

President Salva Kiir is this Wednesday expected to sign a peace deal aimed at ending 20 months of conflict in South Sudan.

The news comes just after one day after the president presided over an expanded leadership consultation meeting with the cabinet, state governors, heads of commissions and other institutions.

The signing ceremony will be witnessed by the president Uhuru Kenyata of Kenya, President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda, the first vice president of Sudan and Ethiopia’s prime minister.

Foreign Affairs Minister, Barnaba Marial Benjamin, has confirmed that President Salva Kiir could put pen to paper this Wednesday.
