The great Ribena ban. Has Tesco gone too far removing sugary drinks from shelves?
Supermarket giants Tesco have announced plans to axe Ribena and Capri-Sun from their shelves as part of measures aimed at tackling obesity. The supermarket will no longer stock small cartons and lunch box-sized added sugar drinks, but will still stock the no-added sugar versions. The move is Tesco's latest response to growing pressure from campaigners pressuring supermarkets to tackle the issue of obesity. But the move has been met with dismay and ridicule with many calling of double standards as they will continue to sell crisps, chocolate and other fizzy drinks.
