EU40 - Climate Change Conference

With a Major UN conference on climate change happening this autumn in Paris, the need to limit global greenhouse emissions and keeping the rise in world temperature under 2 degrees has become a major political focus the world over. This is especially the case here in Europe with the recent targets on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and increasing renewable energy and energy efficiency now enshrined. Owen Stafford attending a debate in the European Parliament concerning development in energy systems and climate change hosting by EU40, the network in the Parliament for MEPs under the age of 40. Afterwards he spoke with one of the conference speakers, Eirik Waerness, Chief Economist with Norwegian oil and gas giant Statoil.
