Madora Lake Trail, California
Reimagined by Eric Mooney.
I tried to think of the water as being a different type of medium that reflected and absorbed sound in a completely different way than it naturally does. Many of the sounds of the birds that are in this recording seem to “wash over” the water and reflect off of it in a different way then what is actually heard in nature.
The subtle (and not so subtle) use of reverb, delay, reversal of sounds, EQ sweeps, etc. adds to the overall sound “washing over” the soundscape in a much different sort of way. I tried to avoid processing that would take away from the sound of nature, but would instead change the sound in a unique and organic way.
