Family's agony as house burgled while burying their elderly mum - @nweir1 reports #BBCNolan
A Newtownabbey family has been left devastated and angry after their mother's home was burgled WHILE they were burying her. Hetty Balmer was 78 when she died from cancer at the Royal Victoria Hospital last Friday. Her funeral was at Roselawn cemetery on Tuesday... but when the family returned to her Rathfern home - a house she'd lived in for over 30 years - they found it had been broken into and ransacked. All her jewellery was stolen and the family had to turn away mourners while the police examined the property. Our reporter, Nicola Weir, spoke to Hetty's daugthers, Janine and Jill and her husband of nearly 50 years, Harry.
