Two pensioners mugged in broad daylight on the Shankill within days of each other... Both elderly ladies left traumatised by their frightening ordeals - one is being treated for shock, the other for horrific injuries to her face, arm and body. The latest happened just yesterday afternoon as an 80 year old walked along the Shankill Road. Meanwhile, 79 year old Betty Young suffered a broken armed, bruised ribs and a black eye when her attacker grabbed her handbag as she made her way up Shankill Parade to vote last Thursday. The police say one man has been arrested and is helping police with their inquires into both incidents. Our reporter, Nicola Weir, spoke to Betty who told her how the attack took place in front of her ill husband.
