After 35 years of being closed to the public, and being used as a lecture theatre, the University of Westminster has reopened the Regent St Cinema, restored to its original purpose.

Smoke Radio went to have a look at the "Birthplace of British Cinema" with Anna McNally from the archive team, and the Cinema Director, Shira Macleod.

We talk about the history and future of the cinema, which showed the first film in the UK and looks set to feature student work as well as double bills of British films.
