Unionists hit out after bandsmen and Fleadh band decisions #BBCNolan
Thirteen members of a loyalist flute band have been convicted of provocatively playing a sectarian tune outside a Catholic Church. A judge ruled that they took part in a rendition of the Famine Song, aggravated by hostility, while marching in a circle at St Patrick's Chapel in north Belfast. But there's anger among unionists and loyalists, after prosecutors decided not to take action against Irish rebel band The Druids. Performing at last year's Ardoyne Fleadh, a member of the Druids told the crowd it was time British troops and their Orange comrades "all f----ed off back to England where they came from". DUP MLA Nelson McCausland said the outcome of the two cases - the loyalist flute band and the Druids - will feed a perception of imbalance in the unionist community.
