Running on a treadmill won't help you lose weight if you're fat - you've got to eat less - that's what doctors are warning. A group of medics have hit out at the emphasis placed on exercise in tackling obesity and say public health messages should squarely focus on unhealthy eating. Writing in the British Journal of Sports Medicine the doctors say while activity is a key part of staving off diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and dementia, its impact on obesity is minimal. But The Food and Drink Federation hit back saying "The benefits of physical activity aren't food industry hype or conspiracy. A healthy lifestyle will include both a balanced diet and exercise." What do you think - is weight loss all about what you stick in your mouth or is going for a run good for weight loss?
