Set: Opening Pidge Mix - Assembled from various vinyl sources laying about. Hot Tuna - "Water Song" - Burgers [I always loved this song. Jorma and Jack from Jefferson Airplane. I was an 8th grader when this came out. The most famous track from this LP was "Keep On Truckin," but there's something about this one that touches the soul a bit more. I hope you like it. Just playing some songs this week. It doesn't mean I didn't stay up late three nights in row in advance of the show. I did. But sometimes that doesn't mean interviews or stories, or anything. As in this case. I ended up just downloading 9 songs and playing 8. The other one can wait.] Set: Scottsdale Lambrusco Nights - Pidge Humble Pie - "30 Days in the Hole" - Smokin' [To be honest, I have rarely heard this song. I just knew it had a great groove. Raw. I dig it, man.] Fleetwood Mac - "Jumpin' At Shadows" [I love listening to Peter Green and Danny Kirwan play guitars, sing, write songs. Made me break out singing as this played. Devil's been gettin' at me. What a great line. Duster Bennett song.] Set: A Little Love Song Fragment - C. Pigeon Set: Gildy. Cold Blood - "Shop Talk" - Sisyphus Set: Skrillex vs. Joe Tex Set: The Shortest Hour Cheap Trick - "Heaven's Falling" - Next Position Please [I do love these guys. The magic of Robin Zander. So true!] Off Broadway - "Bad Indication" - On [Gee Lampa was so right on the Accuplaylist. Why did I play the Cheap Trick before the Off Broadway? He's right. Should have inverted them. I just remember these guys were kind of my idols as a young musician from the mid-west. Nice to hear them again.] Set: The Last Polar Bear - Pidge Blue Oyster Cult - "Transmaniacon MC" - Blue Öyster Cult Set: Ghandi vs. Desmond Tutu Dokken - "Into The Fire" - Tooth and Nail Well, if you are reading this ... thank you. As I'm typing it is 12:50am on Friday, April 24th. Another show done. I was all right with it. I worry that FMU might not like me playing music in a "talk slot." But, once-in-a-while I need to do it, just to remember that the music is what has moved me all along. It was fun picking out songs for this show. One after another. You cost me $10. Ha! Seriously, I especially like the songs from 1972, even though I didn't know that there were that many of them. It occured at random. That was a great year in my life. I was so in love with music and radio and basketball. Excuse me if I'm rambling. Skiing season is over. We went three times this year, I loved it. I am sad to see the snow and the soulful deep winter vibe depart. Spring is overrated, But, I love it just the same. It's all wonderful if you let it be. Um ... Game of Thrones isn't working for me anymore. I've been running again. No cigs since January. Not bad ... OK .... that's all. TIme for Friday and the week beyond. Always remember . See u next time.
