'Planet Syria' - Syrian peace campaigners ask "Earth Is Anybody Out There' as supporters gather in Dublin
"Earth is anybody out there” is the powerful and evocative call from the newly formed ‘Planet Syria’ a group of non-violent activists who vehemently oppose Syria’s peaceful uprising being brutally repressed by Assad and equally cruelly stolen by ISIS. In Dublin, like in many other cities and towns across the world, the Irish Syrian Solidarity Campaign organized a protest to echo the call by ‘Planet Syria’ for an end to Assad’s barrel bombing campaign, which has cost tens of thousands of civilians lives, and peace talks as the only way to effectively respond to the threat posed by ISIS or Islamic State. The protest was held outside Dublin’s General Post Office where Ireland’s ‘1916 Rising’ was launched this week ninety-nine years ago and Anne Daly spoke to members of the Irish Syrian Solidarity Campaign.
