Ex-MP denies backing DUP man - @SJAMcBride explains

There's a developing politics story from the General Election campaign in N Ireland. Yesterday, the DUP announced that former South Belfast UUP MP Martin Smyth had signed the nomination papers of its South Belfast candidate Jonathan Bell. Why is that significant? Well, there's a UUP candidate also in the race, Rodney McCune. Well this morning Martin Smyth has declared his support for Rodney McCune - and he's told the News Letter that he was "misled" by the DUP. What's going on?
