The sound of a city going stir crazy
Nate Trier uses Oblique Strategy cards to reimagine a recording from his own hometown. He writes:
"This piece documents the sounds of a city that was going slightly stir crazy after a too-long winter. The card "Idiot Glee" told me to prioritize the sound of giggly teenagers just let out of school as well as a young man who was clowning for the crowd by loudly, exuberantly greeting his friend across the street. The card "Try Faking It" prompted me to trust my instincts as I put edited these sounds into a piece, as well as cobbling together a house beat from the sounds of bus brakes, wind noise, and a skateboarder who was practicing his moves in close proximity to the recorder."
