Success for Lemn Sissay as he and other victims of abuse get an apology from Wigan council .
All this week the poet Lemn Sissay has been telling BBC Radio Manchester how boys at a care home in Atherton were beaten, punched and kicked under what youngsters have described as a brutal regime. A major police investigation is now underway into events at the home which housed boys from in care and also youngsters on remand. Five men are currently suspects.
Lemn has been calling for Wigan Council to apologise to the victims.
